Description

This is a full-time position working from one of the states in which we operate, including California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington DC, and Washington state. 


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for the senior-level strategic management of direct marketing fundraising programs for a portfolio of nonprofit organization clients. The Senior Account Executive will act as the primary point-of-contact for client accounts and guides day-to-day program and team management to deliver direct marketing fundraising programs.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Analytics: 

  • Develop client annual plans in coordination with the Vice President
  • Prepare and interpret reports/analysis that evaluate client direct marketing fundraising programs with recommendations for improvements in alignment with client goals
  • Select donor segments for renewal and appeal mailings 
  • Work with list brokers/modeling vendors to develop donor and prospect lists
  • Ensure agency reporting is in alignment with client bookkeeping/reporting 
  • Understand and present internal and industry benchmarking reports to clients 

Client Service:

  • Develop year-long and multi-year program strategies aligned with client goals 
  • Provide strategic leadership of client programs
  • Oversee implementation of client’s annual plan
  • Provide guidance on production management and creative process for projects
  • Prepare, finalize and present strategy decks 
  • Manage a high-functioning team 
  • For small-mid clients, present annual plans to clients
  • For large clients, assist in presenting annual plan to clients with Vice President
  • Develop concepts and messaging for direct mail projects
  • Draft copy and/or work with copywriters and designers to develop program content in alignment with project and program strategy
  • Manage account and production team service delivery to the client, including problem-solving and accountability for errors
  • Liaise with client contacts to ensure their satisfaction and enhance client relationships
  • Travel to meet with clients as necessary
  • For integrated clients, coordinate with Digital Director to develop multi-channel campaigns and wrap-up decks 
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of each area of agency’s client services
  • Mentor managers, coordinators, or assistants; other team members
  • Enhance company’s brand by attending events, publishing white papers/blog posts, speaking at workshops and networking with influencers in the industry
  • Participate in new business proposals and presentations when requested
Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly operates a computer and other office equipment and remains in a stationary position, often sitting (or standing if at a standing desk) for prolonged periods; communication is via email, chat, phone, video, and/or in-person with others inside and outside the agency in order to exchange information; repetitive motions may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers in order to operate computer equipment, copy machines, and printers. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum years of experience required: 9
    • In the following areas: Nonprofit fundraising and/or advocacy; direct marketing, including telemarketing, online and/or grassroots organizing
  • Required experience & knowledge:
    • Direct marketing, especially fundraising and/or advocacy
    • Experience in strategic and production management of direct marketing projects
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Demonstrated effective use of digital tools to manage internal and external workflow and communication (including email, chat, zoom, and online workflow tool)
