Independent Contract Position reporting to: Sr. Director of Strategic Initiatives
FLSA STATUS: Temporary/Grant-funded
WORK LOCATION: Virtual/Remote
DATE: November 1 through December 31, 2025
OBJECTIVE: The Community College Career (or Success) Coach will assist students in identifying career goals through Personal and/or group consultation. Career coaches will promote student success by providing services and activities aimed at helping students meet academic and career goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Career Coaches will work with students to do the following:
• Meet one-on-one with students to determine academic and career goals.
• Assist students by providing group webinars on topic related to college and career.
• Host weekly Zoom drop-in events for student Q&A sessions.
• Assist students in connecting with colleges, applying for scholarships, and navigating successful transfer.
• Assist students in developing a resume, preparing for an interview, and charting a career path.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of participant interactions.
• Prepare reports on students and activities as required.

• Student Oriented: Ability to encourage students and provide guidance and coaching in the areas of college and career.
• Knowledge of Transfer: Ability to advise students on successful transfer (including knowledge of transfer articulation).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: Three to five years related experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Strong computer skills using internet-based applications such as: Microsoft Office, Zoom, and appointment management and scheduling software. Work Style: Must be self-motivated, flexible, and have ability to multitask and work unsupervised.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is a temporary, contract position. Student Success Coaches will work remotely and will not be provided with equipment (computer, video camera, telephone). Each coach is expected to have and use their own equipment.
Coaches are expected to be responsive and interact with students virtually and in a professional manner through email or video conferencing software. Hours are flexible and should work to meet the needs of the student.
