The role

The Waiting Room, is seeking an experienced Assistant Venue Manager to support the leadership of this iconic venue and uphold its Forbes 5‑star service standards. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior frontline leadership role within one of Perth’s most recognised hospitality destinations.

As Assistant Venue Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping the guest experience, supporting day‑to‑day operations, mentoring a passionate team, and ensuring service excellence is consistently delivered. Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll help drive the venue’s performance, maintain luxury service standards, and support a highly engaged team culture.

Known for its refined cocktail program, private events, and memorable guest experiences, The Waiting Room is a standout in Perth's bar scene.  Its award-winning cocktail program and reputation for impeccable service have earned awards such as “Best Hotel Bar” and “Best Bar,” solidifying its status as a benchmark for luxury hospitality.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Providing excellent customer service 
  • Ensuring guest satisfaction through time management and multi-tasking 
  • Strong attention to detail through both service and menu knowledge
  • Lead and guide team members, while sharing your knowledge to upskill team members
  • Forecast ahead of large events and ensure stock, staff and venue is prepared
  • Assisting with the scheduling and rostering of employees
  • General stock ordering and stock take/stock control

About you

You’ll bring the following:

  • Previous experience working within a Supervisory or Assistant Manager position within a hospitality environment
  • Excellent time management
  • Customer serviced focused with the want to learn and strive for excellence
  • Bring a positive mindset and culture to your environment

Additional Information

To be successful, you’ll:

  • Hold or willing to obtain a current Approved Managers License
  • Full availability and able to work across a rotating roster of morning, daytime and evening shifts
  • Have minimum 1-2 year previous leadership experience in a busy bar environment
