Job Purpose

Achieves the function’s business development goals by directing supply chain activities and programs.  Ensures maximum efficiency and service to members while increasing sales revenue.

Essential Job Results

Achieves the function’s business development goals by directing supply chain activities and programs including product procurement, rate setting and vendor management.  May direct Tele-Sales, Sales Service, Electronic Commerce, and Support functions, focusing on value to members and increased sales revenue. 

Proficient in business supplier negotiation for product pricing, quality, and favorable contract terms.

Expertly represents BWH within industry as a knowledgeable, competitive procurement resource for our Members and can engage in supplier events comfortably and with industry background.

Motivates and develops staff by assessing strengths and weakness and providing appropriate developmental and training opportunities.  Implements successful hiring and retention practices. 

Delivers business results by building accountability and trust with Member Services team and membership.  Leverages relationships with sales and marketing staff and/or members or strategic partners.

Exhibits skill in conflict resolution of product sales that have become problematic; considering all parties responsibility, contractual agreements, and negotiates the resolution to attain a reasonable outcome.

Ensures supplier performance by developing and monitoring key performance indicators and overseeing contract negotiations.  Sources, approves and retains new suppliers.

Engages members and sales team through the creation, development, and execution of effective sales promotions.

Critically assesses policies, structure, and procedures.  Identifies opportunities for alternative approaches and continuous  improvement while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Meets financial objectives by overseeing and managing annual budget. 

Maintains quality service by establishing and following Company standards.

Experience/Education/Skills

  • Minimum 8 years progressive, related purchasing, sales, customer service, or telemarketing experience including program development.
  • Hospitality or travel industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics or related field.
  • Master of Business Administration preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.

Work Environment:

  • This role requires office-based work with occasional travel for meetings and stakeholder engagement, 15% to 20% of work time.
  • You must reside in AZ and be able to work out of our Headquarters office three days per week.  HQ is located at: 6201 North 24th Parkway, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
