CEI Senior Project Engineer (Construction)

We are hiring a Sr. Project Engineer to lead and direct our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) teams in Florida. As a CEI Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overall contract management, administration, and coordination of CEI services for diverse and complex DOT projects in various Florida locations.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is an opportunity to work directly with our Florida DOT clients, be involved in business development efforts to win new work, manage contracts, and deliver effective CEI services. Your team will be involved in technical duties supporting engineers and other professionals in the administration of highway and bridge construction. Such areas include, construction inspection, project roadway and bridge inspection, materials testing, project surveying, and program/regulatory compliance. Preferred location is Orlando/Central Florida but willing to consider candidates based in other Florida cites so that we can expand our work with other FDOT Districts.
Additional Responsibilities:
Full technical responsibility for interpreting plans and specifications, as well as organizing, executing, and coordinating construction engineering and inspection assignments.
Responsible for monitoring construction schedules and assigning staff to determine that the contractor's activities are inspected and tested in accordance with contract documents.
Act as an on-site liaison and cultivate team building between the client, company personnel and the contractor in resolution of project issues at the lowest possible level.
Brief the client on project issues and provide possible solutions.
Make presentations to the Dispute Resolution Board in connection with project disputes.
Analyze complex construction and design problems and develop new or improved policies, methods, practices, and procedures.
Contract negotiations, budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, and overall profit/loss on a project.
What Skills You’ll Bring
BS degree in Civil Engineering
PE license. Prefer PE license in the state of Florida (or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within six months)
Minimum of 10+ years of CEI experience on roadway and/or bridge projects, supporting DOT clients. Open to candidates with DOT experience in other states, that are interested in relocating to sunny Florida.
FDOT Advanced MOT certification and have attended the CTQP Quality Control Manager Course and have passed the examination preferred.
Prior experience working on FDOT or Florida Turnpike Enterprise projects is ideal.
