The Buyer/Planner is responsible for the Procure to Pay functions of assigned commodities to support Configure-to-Order production demand while maintaining efficient reporting and data integrity. This person will be analytical and quantitative in nature and can understand and enhance supply chain processes. The role is responsible for ensuring continuous supply to support the production line by analyzing MRP recommendations and/or executing the Supply Plan and Material Planning purchase recommendations. This position gathers data to support the procurement of assigned parts, which includes working with the Sourcing, Materials Planning, Supply Planning, Engineering Teams and start or renew RFQ on assigned parts. A sense of urgency is of the utmost importance when there are production line-down shortages and all efforts to expedite, coupled with the appropriate expedite analysis is presented to relevant stakeholders. Building supplier relationships is key in this role, with weekly calls to your assigned vendors to review all open orders, PO expedite and PO push-out requests. The Buyer/Planner will have heavy tactical PO updating duties to meet Supply and Material Planning push and pull requests. This role will work closely with the Receiving and Accounts Payable teams to ensure the Procure to Pay function is fulfilled. This person also works closely with NPI & ECO Team, Material, Supply and Demand Planning, Engineering, Quality, Production Scheduling, Configure-to-Order and Parts Departments. This role will participate in recurring planning and replenishment calls with internal and external stakeholders as well as Initiate cost and time saving processes to ensure maximum efficiencies.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze MRP recommendations daily to ensure proper stock levels are achieved for assigned commodities.
  • Review the plans provided by Material Planners and Supply Planning Team and execute PO recommendations.
  • Prepare and submit purchase orders to assigned suppliers.
  • Quote and source new components and assemblies with approved suppliers.
  • React to MRP action messages for expedites and deferments.
  • Maintain accurate Purchase Order information in ERP system.
  • Sense of Urgency with production line down shortages and expedite requests.
  • Root cause and counter measure any stock-outs
  • Maintain safety stock and min/max levels of assigned SKUs.
  • Maintain target inventory levels on assigned commodities.
  • Maintain target pricing and PPV.
  • Manage supplier performance and on-time delivery.
  • Process ECO requests for part changes with Suppliers.
  • Process FAI requests.
  • Tactical and all other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing and planning, or related functions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field, or its equivalent, preferred.
  • Has knowledge of Bills of Materials and understands technical schematics.
  • Has the ability to manage dynamic and changing priorities. 
  • Global supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment or a technology company is a plus.
  • Microsoft D365 Financial and Operations experience is a +++
  • Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus in Excel and PowerPoint proficiency, required.
  • Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI, and Power Apps, desired.
  • Some experience with SQL and other relational databases is desired.
  • Possesses good problem-solving skills to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prepare, present and clearly communicate solutions to both supply chain and commercial audiences. 
  • Passionate, self-motivated, and enthusiastic, continuously seeking ways to achieve excellence.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
