About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Senior Environmental Project Manager to support a large, statewide environmental monitoring project. This role involves working closely with outside contractors, CBOs, community leaders, and government agencies, including the California Air Resources Board (CARB), to ensure the smooth execution of the project. You will play a critical role in coordinating activities between teams, strategizing effective execution, generating content, managing project documentation, facilitating communication between all stakeholders internal and external, and doing whatever is needed to make the project a success. 

Beyond this project, this will be a permanent programmatic position at Aclima with opportunities to carve out additional responsibilities, and design excellence in the function beyond the responsibilities below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the successful coordination and execution of the largest mobile environmental monitoring project in California state history.

  • Serve as a point of contact for project-related communications, including liaising with government agencies like CARB, local governments, CBOs, communities, and other stakeholders.

  • Support technical managers, and the EJ lead in tracking project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure that the project stays on schedule.

  • Assist the EJ lead in the community outreach plan, and execution.

  • Direct and guide external contractors.

  • Pull in the necessary resources from the team, and coordinate execution to ensure deadlines are met, and deliverables are meeting high quality standards.

  • Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation, including reports, presentations, and meeting minutes.

  • Facilitate meetings and workshops, including scheduling, preparing agendas, presentations, and ensuring follow-up on action items.

  • Generate communications materials.

  • Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of environmental data to support project objectives.

  • Collect input from stakeholders, and prepare communications that tell the story of data.

  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential risks and issues, and proposing solutions.

  • Contribute to the development of project-related materials, such as newsletters, fact sheets, and public-facing communications.

  • Support administrative tasks as needed, including budgeting, procurement, and logistics coordination.

Qualifications:

  • SF Bay Area Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • 4+ years of experience in project or program management, preferably within environmental or government-related projects.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Google Docs, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello).

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Highly detail-oriented

  • Strong diplomatic skills. High level of professionalism.

  • Action-oriented problem solver

  • Passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to Aclima’s mission.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Pay Transparency

The base salary range for this full-time exempt position in the SF Bay Area is $110,000 - $170,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and are informed by current market data provided by Carta Total Comp.

Within those ranges, individual pay is determined by exact region and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Hiring Manager can share more about the specific salary range for your geographic region during the hiring process. Employee must continue to reside within 90 miles of location used to determine starting salary, otherwise Aclima reserves the right to make regional adjustments to pay.
