ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Data Analyst will join the Reporting and Analytics team, a dynamic group driving RockWallet’s data-driven decision-making. In addition to the team’s focus on business intelligence and scalable data solutions, we also incorporate cutting-edge AI and machine learning initiatives to enable predictive analytics and advanced insights. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with experts in BI, data engineering, and AI, contributing to innovative projects in a fast-paced and evolving environment

This role is remote with a preference for applicants based in Canada and in the Eastern Time Zone (ET).

Reporting to the Manager of Reporting & Analytics, the Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for the following duties and obligations:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Dissect and summarize information with visually compelling charts and graphs to achieve understanding at all levels of the organization.
• Articulate and present findings to key stakeholders verbally and in written forms.
• Publish standard and complex ad-hoc reports with varying detail for different audiences.
• Design and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI and QuickSight.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define metrics and analyze trends in customer behaviour, transaction volumes, and operational performance.
• Collect and analyze data, identify patterns, and apply findings to build forecasting models to help the business make informed decisions.
• Apply analytical methods to complex business problems, driving improved decision-making and outcomes.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover actionable insights and present findings to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data efficiently.
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows, utilizing tools like AWS Glue and Redshift.
• Work on data engineering tasks to enable robust and reliable reporting and advanced analytics.
• Utilize Python for advanced analytics and automation tasks; experience with PySpark is a strong plus.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a data analytics or business intelligence role.
• Ability to take initiative without direct guidance, using significant independent judgment.
• Ability to independently research complex problem areas, and facilitate meetings and high-level decision-making processes.
• Expertise in data visualization tools, specifically Power BI and QuickSight.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex data extraction and manipulation.
• Experience with Python for advanced data analysis and scripting.
• Familiarity with PySpark or other distributed data processing frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS (Glue, Redshift, etc.) is required.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering scalable solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and storytelling skills to translate data into presentations and actionable business insights.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
