SUMMARY: As a Project Manager, the individual is expected to provide subject matter expertise in public safety applications and operations. Leading teams that focus on the assessment, specification, design and procurement of Public Safety technologies and/or facilities. A project manager is expected to contribute to cultivating client relationships and business development through excellent execution. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Successfully manage projects and/or programs focused in public safety systems, to include scope, budget and time constraints




  • Develop and execute activities related to end-to-end project management for our clients




  • Establish and lead enterprise-wide, cross functional project teams. Define, plan, orchestrate program strategy




  • Proactively manage work across matrix project teams, monitor and report on execution of deliverables, ensure overall quality and act as the escalation point for issues which cannot be resolved at the program level




  • Lead diverse project teams, manage and coordinate subcontractors. Lead regularly scheduled project meetings. Provide leadership and energy necessary to motivate staff and achieve goals




  • Develop, write and track detailed project scope statements (PSS) and work breakdown schedules (WBS). Support negotiation with clients to adjust and amend scope of services, procurement and budgets




  • Establish a project plan and schedule between clients, company technical and project teams. Oversee and coordinate the planning, resources, and direction of work activity and deliverables




  • Coordinate with our business development staff to develop ongoing programs, and proposal statements of work for additional services




  • Assure the quality of project deliverables. Deliver projects within client budget guidelines




  • Ability to travel 30 - 40% as necessary




  • Support state and local board and subcommittee meetings including preparation and follow-up requirements




  • Support PSAP funding requests and annual reporting requirements




  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management




  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • This job has direct or indirect supervisory responsibilities related to projects managed




  QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (preferred).




  • Experience managing complex public safety projects and/or training (preferred).




  • Working knowledge of technical and operational standards that apply to public safety communications.




    • PSAP operational experience desired






  • Experience with some or any of the following: 911, public safety operations, emergency management, CAD, wireless communications systems, or specific experience with partner agencies (Police, Fire, EMS)




  • Ability to present complicated concepts in an understandable way to governmental boards and persons while creating trusted relationships with all stakeholders.






  • Proficient with program administration of both government projects and multi-county regional programs interfacing with local governments and voluntary boards.




  • ​​​​​​​Valid driver’s license.




​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Preferred Qualifications:




  • PMP, degree or other project management credentials




  • Computer skills required/desired: Microsoft Office; Project Management Software, Deltek Vantagepoint






      • Overall project management experience




      • Experience with some or all of the NCR PSAP’s




      • Excellent writing and speaking skills




      • Excellent attention to detail
