ED&I and Wellbeing Adviser

Location: UK Flexible 

Contract: Permanent

Hours per week: 35 (typically Mon – Fri)

Salary range: £34,578 - £37,147 (plus £3,344 Inner London Weighting, if applicable) per annum 




We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced ED&I (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) & Wellbeing professional to join us at the British Red Cross. Can you provide high-quality, people-focused advice and guidance to help us shape and strengthen our approach to ED&I and Wellbeing across the organisation. A day in the life of our ED&I & Wellbeing Adviser 

In this busy role you’ll collaborate closely with the wider team in helping the organisation to achieve its ED&I and wellbeing ambitions. 

You’ll be seen as an expert in your field, providing advice and support in ED&I and Wellbeing. 

You’ll develop capacity building programmes across the organisation to increase confidence and skills and mainstream our dedication to ED&I and Wellbeing. You’ll build trusted relationships to gain understanding and anticipate the needs, challenges of those who come to you for guidance. 



You’ll actively seek knowledge of best practice, research, benchmarking tools and have experience of accreditations and/or kitemarks in ED&I and Wellbeing. This will help shape our service offer and progress in our ambitions to be an anti-racist organisation and make the highest impacts. 



Collaboration is key in this role. You’ll lead Communities of Practice and groups to bring people together, sharing knowledge and ideas. You'll also take lead or support key projects that contribute to our ED&I and Wellbeing goals.

The role of EDI & Wellbeing Adviser might be for you if you have: 


  • A passion for supporting EDI and Wellbeing initiatives together with an understanding of how they contribute to supporting organisational effectiveness.

  • Excellent planning and prioritisation skills with ability to manage competing demands.

  • Commitment to and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion issues within a diverse and multicultural environment.

  • Experience of identifying and using a range of sources to produces reports that combine different types of data. Ability to analyse and present basic data for reporting. 

  • Proven success in working with cross-functional teams i.e. Learning and Development, Policy etc.

  • Experience of evaluating training programmes which evidenced making a tangible difference to the organisation.
